About Us

I opened my first coffee shop in 1996 with a mission to provide the very best coffee and tea and the very best customer service in our market. By 2010 my team had accumulated multiple awards for product quality, customer service, and building design. We were especially proud to win the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) TOPS award 5 consecutive years for “retailing excellence.” This award was given annually to 25 coffee shops world-wide.

After selling the business in 2010 I had an idea for a new type of coffee shop. Inspired by my late sister Lori, whose kindness always embraced family and friends, Bondadoso, Spanish for “kind”, embodies her character. Simply stated, a place for people to gather and share great coffee and tea in an environment that is uplifting, welcoming, and kind. We don’t have a mission or a vision but a way of “being”. We are crazy about coffee and tea…everything about coffee and tea; how it’s grown, where its grown, how it is bought, roasted, blended, and enjoyed but most of all we are passionate about how it is shared.

We feature a traditional espresso bar, a single cup brew bar, and a tap wall with 8 types of cold-brew coffee and tea offerings including nitro-coffee. Our retail area houses an extensive collection of unique coffee and tea representing nearly every growing region of the world. We feature relatively unknown micro-roasters and micro-tea producers. Each roaster and producer has a story of their own that embraces our “kind” theme.

And there’s entertainment…but not what you think. We have a literal social media wall where you can post photos and comments, a “kind” wall filled with quotes and you can add your own favorite, and be warned, we break out into impromptu games where all are required to participate.
We invite you to experience Bondadoso Coffee & Tea Collective. We promise a great experience.

Meet Our Fabulous Partners

We searched far and wide for the best coffee roasters and tea producers in the world.
Case Coffee
Ashland, OR
After searching the globe for the most distinct, amazing coffees Case Coffee narrowed its focus to four favorite origins of Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, and Guatemala. They seek out coffees that are sweet, clean, and complex. Integrity and care are put into every step along the way, from cherry to cup.
Coava Coffee
Portland, OR
Coava Coffee's Matt Higgins dreamed of starting a company where he could roast and prepare coffees that would be exciting for professional baristas and inviting to every day drinkers. He sought farmers who were committed to producing quality crops, focusing his attention on under-sourced regions.
Fonte Coffee
Seattle, WA
As one of Seattle’s first roaster companies, Fonte Coffee believes sourcing the best specialty beans to create the finest coffee and espresso blends in the world requires a process that delivers freshly roasted beans to their customers. Fonte Coffee creates high-quality specialty blends featuring a hand roast-to-order wholesale process that established them as one of the top wholesale coffee providers.
Lanna Coffee
Fresno, CA
Since 2010, Lanna Coffee Co. has worked alongside ITDP, an organization committed to improving the lives of those in northern Thailand, and the villagers to purchase that coffee, often paying beyond the Fair Trade value. Doing so allows the Thai villagers to be self-sustainable, while Lanna Coffee Co. works to further support the cause by offering this specialty coffee to the U.S. market.
Phil & Sebastian
Calgary, AB, Canada
In 1996, Phil and Sebastian were paired as lab partners at the University of Calgary and soon after they became friends, bonding over a shared love of good food and good wine. In 2002, the pair discovered espresso and set out on a long and winding journey to show people just how good coffee could be.
Art of Tea
Los Angeles, CA
The seeds that formed the foundation of Art of Tea were first planted in 1996 when Steve Schwartz began his journey of extensive study in preventative medicine at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico. Since then, Art of Tea has become a leading purveyor of organic and specialty teas. Each year Steve travels extensively, returning with rare and unique teas from around the world.
